Sphingolipids are amides formed from sphingosin, natural hydrophobic aminodiol, and various carboxylic acids.

This synthetic fluorescent lipid is constructed from sphingosin and BDP TR, a bright fluorescent hydrophobic dye emitting in red region of the spectrum. The lipid is incorporated into membranes of Golgi apparatus and allows to visualize them using confocal microscopy.

AF647 NHS ester is a bright, far-red fluorescent dye, used for cellular visualisation and labeling of antibodies, peptides, proteins, modified oligonucleotides, and other amine-containing molecules.

Due to the lack of significant self-quenching AF647 dye molecules can be conjugated to proteins at high molar ratios, which resulting in sensitive detection of low-abundance biomolecules potential.

AF647 NHS ester dye possesses high water-solubility, high fluorescence quantum yield, it is pH-insensitive over a wide molar range. Widely applied for imaging and flow cytometry.
