SUMICHIRAL OA series is a pioneer of chiral HPLC stationary phase using low molecular weight chiral selector.

Features

  • Enables direct high quality separation of optical isomers.

    Enables direct high quality separation of optical isomers by a large number of theoretical plate.

  • Elution order inversion

    In the SUMICHIRAL OA series, low molecular weight optically active compounds are immobilized onto the stationary phase. By immobilizing an antipode of this optically active component, the elution order of the target substance can be reversed. (Excluding OA-4800/4900/7000 series, 8000, AGP, CBH, and HSA)

  • Applicable for LC-MS

    SUMICHIRAL OA-2500/3000 series is applicable for LC-MS as the recommended mobile phase is methanol containing ammonium acetate.

  • Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC)

    SUMICHIRAL OA-2000 and OA-4000 series are also available for Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC).

Product lineup

Separation of enantiomers takes place due to the minor energy difference between the solute and the stationary phase caused by diastereomeric interactions (e.g., hydrogen bonding, charge transfer, coordinate bonding).

HALO-2 columns for UHPLCThe new HALO-2 columns from Advanced Materials Technology are based on their Fused-Core technology, but with a smaller particle size of 2m. These columns offer the advantages of sub 2m fully porous particles but at lower operating pressures. Manufactured with 1m column inlet frits, HALO-2 columns are less susceptible to column plugging than typical 0.2-0.5m frits on sub 2m fully porous columns. HALO-2 columns can be used up to 1000 bar but will actually produce 20% lower back pressure than most commercially available sub 2m UHPLC columns under the same conditions. There are two phases currently available: C18 and PFP. A 4-page flyer and three application notes with HALO-2 C18 are also available.

Chiral Technologies are about to launch their first medium pressure liquid chromatography columns (MPLC). These new CHIRALFLASH columns are packed with immobilised chiral stationary phases for the separation of enantiomers. The columns, with a length of 100mm and i.d. of 30mm, are packed with Daicel’s 20um CHIRALPAK IA, IC, ID and IF materials. They are specifically designed for rapid and low cost separation of target compounds for exploratory stage processes. The columns are reusable and compatible with any commercially available flash chromatography system.

MPLC method development is first carried out on analytical CHIRALPAK HPLC columns (20um, 100 x 4.6mm) before scaling up to CHIRALFLASH MPLC columns. A 6-page product brochure is available.

Nacalai Tesque have launched COSMOSIL 5PFP, a pentafluorophenyl-bonded HPLC column with alternative selectivity to C18 columns. In addition to a hydrophobic separation mechanism, the phase offers dipole-dipole and p-p interactions. COSMOSIL 5PFP shows good retention for compounds with strong dipole moments, such as cationic or halogenated compounds, and exhibits high steric selectivity for structural isomer separations. Columns with analytical to preparative dimensions are available.

Advanced Materials Technology have launched HALO semi-preparative columns with 10mm internal diameters.

HALO columns are available in 2.7 and 4.6µm particle sizes. These columns feature a porous silica layer (0.5µm or 0.6µm) which is ‘fused’ onto a solid silica particle (1.7µm or 3.4µm). The resulting columns provide faster separations and higher sample throughput, without compromising column efficiency, ruggedness and reliability.

Available phases include C18, C8, Silica, RP-Amide, Phenyl-Hexyl, PFP, Penta-HILIC, ES-CN.

INOPAK SPE columns are widely used for the purification of biologically useful materials, catalysis, toxic substance monitoring, ion-exchange and wastewater clean-up. INOPAK columns have a wide range of applications, each showing high selectivity and enhanced recovery. They offer reproducible results and the potential for automation. INOPAK sorbents include C18, C8, NH2, Silica and Florisil, packed in 1, 3 and 6ml syringes with bed weights of 50mg, 100mg, 500mg and 1g.

A comprehensive range of media for all common modes of liquid chromatography, including ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, reversed-phase, size exclusion and affinity, are available. They exhibit high mechanical and chemical stability and are stable from pH 2 – 12 for normal operating conditions and pH 1 – 13 for cleaning conditions.
